Born in 1991, La Colifata was the first radio station in the world to broadcast from a psychiatric hospital, becoming a model of therapeutic and social approach through the use of the media.
Today there are radios in almost all mental health spaces in the world and La Colifata promoted and accompanied this process From the compulsory social isolation declared in France and Argentina arose this new way of making live radio at a distance and at the service of health.
The swarm in connection recovers the lost outside and creates a collective, from where the being is sustained and becomes unique and unrepeatable. It is from there that it contributes to the social wheel and recovers meaning.

One of the 21st century's great gifts to humanity is the internet. For the first time in our history, it is harder for tyrants to hide their atrocities. Information from every corner of the globe can be sent instantly to millions of people. However, like any new invention, the internet can be used for both good and evil. The democratisation of voices has unfortunately led to an easier way for falsehoods to flourish. It is harder to discern between what is real and what is invented. Too many of us are fooled by false information because we have never been taught the skills to analyse, critically evaluate and verify. Mirta Lourenço explains how radio has a role to play in combating the scourge of the Internet age.
